RoboClaw 2x5A Control Inputs S4 S5

Post by jonas- »

Hi,

I'd like to know the function of the control inputs S4 S5 of the 2x5A motor controllers.
Do they have the same function as S1 S2 or as S3?
I'd like to attach 4 limit switches (or 2 and 2 in a row) to the controller. Is this possible?

Thank you very much,
Jonas

With the current firmware they are disabled. Once we have released the new manual with that information we will also release the firmware update that will enable those pins.

Once they are enabled the S3 pin will optionally be able to control an external break or voltage clamp circuit(we will document the circuit in the manual) or be a resetable e-stop input as well as the backwards compatible standard e-stop(hard reset rquired to clear). S4 and S5 will support being used as index inputs for encoders or as home signal inputs with automatic startup home functions for each motor.

We are not currently supporting limit switches with the Roboclaw line.
