M1 and M2 Max Current setting reccomendation

Post by bmg »

What should be the settings for M1 and M2 Max Current?

1. Should it be set to the stall current of the motor?
2. Can instantaneous current (in very short time periods), the controller will supply, exceed the Max Current setting (e.g. does setting below the stall current to protect the motor have sense)?
3. Are there any other recommendations/uses for Max Current setting?

Kind regards

It should be set to the motor stall current or whatever current you want the motors to be limited to. This is a hard limit. The controller will not let the motor draw more current than this limit.

Note the current limiting will not protect against dead shorts.
