Re: Minimum Logic Battery Voltage

To add a little more mystery to this, I borrowed some relatively new RoboClaw 2x7As to test out, and they behave fine with 5V supplied to one of the servo headers. This could indicate a problem with the older Roboclaw(s) you have. I sugegst you send one in so we can look it over and wire it up the ...

Re: Minimum Logic Battery Voltage

It seems that this trick doesn't work. I have a Roboclaw 2x15A V5. If I put regulated 5 V on the middle S1 pin (LB/MB jumper removed) the LB IN + pin will not float. Instead it will be close to 5 V and there is no way I can pull it low. Is there maybe a trace somewhere I can cut to disable the BEC ...

Re: unable to install ion motion software

Did you install IonMotion or IonMotionQA? IonMotion hasnt been changed yet since the last time you installed it. IonMotionQA though has had all the references we could find removed. If you havent installed that one please do(its available in the General Discussion announcements). It will become the ...

Re: capacitor blow out

Most likely, yes. If the voltage from regen goes over 42v it will pop the regulator almost every time. Hopefully it died in a way that didnt allow the raw voltage through to the rest of the board. Usually it doesnt and we can just replace the one chip but sometimes we arent so lucky and it takes out...

Re: capacitor blow out

I recommend you send the board in so we can repair it. I suspect you may be right regen killed it but it is most likely it took out the switching regulator as well if that small cap was damaged. Send it to our contact address and include your contact information and return address inside the box. Gi...

Re: Solid error led lit with arduino Uno and pump question.

You can use the Ion Motion software with a USB connection to swap the LIPO and MODE buttons back. You will need to do one of the following depending on the amount of regen and how the motors need to operate. 1. To prevent regen down slow down the motors quickly. If they slow down at their natural ra...

Re: single channel encoders

A true 4 quadrant signal is required(eg both signals will transition while moving forward/backward over 4 quadrants).

Roboclaw does not support tachometers currently.

Re: Settings for a roboclaw connected to a ATX power Supply

Will the pumps be running at a constant speed or will they be changing speed alot? If the motors are changing speed alot you will get regen during slow down(assuming the motors are slowed down faster than their natural rate due to friction). The faster the slow down the more the regen. This can caus...

Correct, the battery selection drop down is shows the number of LIPO cells and the minimum voltage cutoff that will be used.
