The wiring is shown in the manual on page 47. You do not need to have the 5v going to the controling MCU from teh Roboclaw as shown in the diagram. You just need the GND,TX and RX. However that MCU must be 5v tolerant or you could damage its I/O pins.

Make sure you have the latest firmware and IonMotion software. Make sure the encoders increase in value when the motor is moving forward. use the PWM settings window and move the motors power slider UP for forward. 1. The readings are returned in 1/100th amp values so the value of 60 is .06amps or 60ma 2. Current sensing is noisy even with filtering. Different values but usually in the same ballpark if they are the same model motors running the same load.

Thos e are just the example PID settings we use because they are neutral. They wont cause any motor to go crazy. They, however, are no where near what any motor I have every used required to be properly tuned. I highly recommend you handle tuning the motors in the IonMotion software and just save th...
