Re: Load Balancing

GETPWMS command 48. Returns m1 duty(2 bytes), m2 duty(2bytes), CRC16(2 bytes). M1 and M2 Duty are a digital percentage(+-32767 = +-100 percent). If you send a Duty command you will override the speed control(eg PID stops running). So you can't do it that way. You can possibly adjust the speed of the...

Re: Is there an error in docs on "Read Status" cmd 90?

There is an announcement that explains the changed. The manual can take a long time to get updated so small changes usually get posted in an announcement.

Re: Newbie - question on default values for speed & accel

All values are in relation to the motors maximum speed(QPPS). 1. Setting a speed higher than QPPS will fail to reach that speed. 2. Not leaving enough margin between the target speed and the maximum speed(QPPS) means the motor may not have the power to hold that speed under its given load. I recomme...

Re: Home switch wiring into S4

For fast responses always call or use our online support system. The forums are mainly for user to user interactions. The default Limit switch settings are pulled up internally and trigger when you pull the signal line to ground. So a NO switch should do just that. I recommend using an external pull...

Re: Newbie - question on default values for speed & accel

Defaults are used in RC mode and in commands that dont have explicit settings for them. Eg a M1Speed command would use the default accel setting. If you are unsure what is being used I recommend always sticking with the advanced commands with all the specific arguments you need. Note the SpeedAccel ...

Re: PIV autotune doesn't respect position limits

Position Limits are only respected by the position commands. The Autotuner is not controlling position. It is using the minimum space and time it can to measure the motors capabilities so it can calculate proper PID values. Some setups will not have enough room for that. In that case you will have n...

Re: Increasing response speed in position mode

The autotuner does a best estimate of maximum speed of the motor without actually running the motor at maximum speed. It also attempts to error on the high side. You can manually measure your motors maximum speed using the PWM settings screen. Run the motor at max power and check the actual maximum ...

Re: Autotune position problem

The autotuner will fail with some setups. Very low resolution encoders are one case. In those cases you will have to manually tune the settings. If you have trouble with that please call or contact support directly.

Re: Restore Defaults (80)

What has been the trouble? Setting up S4 or S5 for a single limit is fairly simple using Motion Studio. Note the switches do nothing unless the motors are commanded to move so if you are manually testing expecting some action without actually command the motor to move, that may be what is confusing ...

Re: Having problem in initial and position control

Unfortunately we cant help much with Labview. We wrote that initially for Labview 2015 and there hasnt been enough interest to support the 3K+ per year liscense.
