RoboClaw 2x15A Trouble Connecting to IonMotion Studio
RoboClaw 2x15A Trouble Connecting to IonMotion Studio
Hello,
I'm using a RoboClaw 2x15A V5E and having some trouble sending motor commands to the controller, and connecting to IonMotion Studio over USB.
Setup:
-Powered externally using battery
-Logic battery is also powered by the same battery
-Used several different USB Cables and different USB ports on the computer
-Not in Bootloader Mode
Problems
-Device doesnt show up when it is not in bootloader mode
-When device is placed in bootloader mode, it shows up in IonMotion Studio. When I try to update the firmware, it loops infintely.
-When using the Python API (over USB Serial)/Arduino Library (using S1, S2 on Roboclaw), I'm able to read encoder values from the motors, but the motors don't respond when I send motor command values.
-Have checked the lines to the motors using oscilloscope, no signals sent from the controller to the motors.

Make sure you are using Basicmicro Motion Studio. Ion Studio and Ion Motion software is no longer supported.

This problem was fixed by being in the proper voltage cutoff mode. We were powering using an 11V Lipo, but the voltage cutoff was 21V. I could connect to the software now.
