Getting out of E-Stop / enable pin

Post by girts »

In serial mode you can pull the S3 pin low to activate E-Stop. Now, is there a way to get out the E-Stop state without a power cycle? I'm looking for something like an enable pin: when low - motors stop, when high - back to normal operation.

Once E-Stop, Over voltage or a driver error state triggers the unit can not be cleared without power cycling it. This is to prevent just resetting constantly and then eventually damaging the unit. All other error states will clear when the problem is corrected. This is in regards to the latest firmware. Over current will no longer cause a shutdown like this. The over current is now limited by software on a cycle by cycle basis.

These three errors can not be cleared without a reset specifically because they are assumed to be dangerous situations that will either damage the units or possibly cause harm to the user.

- Once E-Stop,
- Over voltage or a
- driver error state triggers

The different errors blink different codes. An E-Stop lights and holds all three LEDs solid. The other error blink codes are listed in the manual.

E-Stop has always been a latching input. We only recently added the option to have it non-latching so you can release the E-Stop without reseting the unit.
