RoboClaw 2x15A does not have LB-MP pins

Post by simons »

Hello,

my RoboClaw does not have the LB-MP pins.
I want to use the main battery (set to 12V) to power the motors and the logic.
Motion Studio shows me:
"Main Battery: 12.0"
"Logic Battery: 1.5"
As far as I know, I need the Logic Battery to be at atleast 6V.

Also: the compontens R24 und C17 are soldered together at the side of the heatsink, is that wanted this way?

Thanks in advance

You do not need the logic battery connected if you have a main battery and dont have brown out issues. What you are seeing is the logic input floating(since it isnt connected to anything) causing the 1.5v reading.

R24 and C17 have a common trace and the components are very close together by design. This can cause them to reflow together sometimes at the common trace.

What do you mean by "not connected to anything"?
I wired an encoder to the + and - ports. I will check tomorrow if I have the 5V between the + and -.

When nnected to LB+- the power for logic is automatnnected to LB+- the power for logic is automatically provided by Main battery +/-

So when nothing is connected to LB+-, the LB voltage reading you see in Motion studio is 0 or near zero(eg floating).
