Broken USB connectors

Hello,

While taking inventory of my robotics team's parts cabinet, I found that two of our Roboclaws had lost their USB connectors. They appear to be perfectly fine otherwise (Green Status 1 LED when powered up), but not being able to connect them to BasicmicroMotionStudio is annoying. Based on the design of the connectors, it seems like the best way to put new ones on would be to use solder paste and a hot air pen. Do you have any suggestions for performing this operation, or for which USB connector part to use? Both units are 2x60A V5 if that is important.

We recommend you send them in to have the USB connector reinstalled. It is very easy to damage the signal traces under those connectors. If they are damaged they are un-repairable.

If you send them in to be repaired include your return address on a note inside the package. Ship to our main contact address on the website.

If you still want to repair them yourself I believe the part we used on that model is 10118194-0001LF. Yes, a hot air rework station is very much recommended for that kind of repair.
