1. Drill motors tend to be very high current motors. I pulled one out of regular over the counter unit and it had a stall current of around 180amps. I recommend you run some tests to determine the stall current of your motors.

2. Drill motors also tend to be very noisy, electrically. This can cause false current readings. Slowly ramp up one motor and keep an eye on the current. does it vary relatively smoothly or jump all over the place. Do the same test with both motors running.
