Output voltage for roboclaw 2x15

Post by ecabanas » Tue Oct 08, 2019 4:06 am

I'm using robloclaw 2x15 for a skid rover, but I see the output voltage for the motor are 8v max. My motors are 12v, any idea how to change the voltage to 12v?

The maximum output voltage will always be slightly less than the battery voltage. That is assuming 100% duty. At lower duties the average voltage will be lower(linear down to 0v). DC Motor controllers are basically Buck converters, They will never output higher voltage than the battery. Also, there are loses so they will never output 100% battery either. In practice 95 to 98% battery voltage can be reached.
