Motor Controller doesn't output 100% duty

Post by Robert_e » Sat Apr 10, 2021 4:43 pm

I'm using the MCP266. When I set the maximum output, I am only reading a 98% duty cycle. Is there a way to get the controller to output a 100% duty cycle?

Most mosfet drivers use a boost capacitor to generate the high side gate voltage. This requires recharging the cap which requires turning off the high side for a short period of time. This limits the on-time to around 98%.
