1. There is a section on using the buttons to change the mode and options of the Roboclaw in the manual, specifically pages 15 through 18.
2. The default analog mode will autocalibrate when powered on. Where ever your POT is set to when you power it up will be the "Stopped" position. If you pot was turned all the way to one side when you turned on the Roboclaw then the motors will only turn in one direction.
3. You may need to call so we can determine what is going on. When the motors are running what do you mean by "but not very well".
