Usb control
Usb control
Hi,
Do you need an encoder fitted to run off ion studio ? I have been unable to get the motor moving. I'm using a 2 x 45 amp Roboclaw. I have been reading the manual but still not getting any motor movement. I have set for bridge mode. Set amps and voltage settings. I only have the motor connected to the Roboclaw and usb cable. What am I doing wrong.
Thanks in advance

Re: Usb control
1. Make sure it is working using Ion Studio. If you are only using PWM Settings(duty cycle commands) then you do NOT need encoders. If you want to do velocity or position control then you MUST have encoders.
2. If you wire bridge mode wrong the motor may not run and the motor controller may end up shorting power through itself. I recommend you get the controller working with the motor with a single channel first and then move to bridged mode after all the bugs are worked out of your setup.
