The latest update does not work 4.1.26

Post by laptophead »

I had to update from 4.1.24 to 4.1.26 on my roboclaws and it all seemed fine.

Than I re-entered all the settings but the controller wont move.
I got the M1OC and M2OC ligts red, but there is no current going to the motors. The sliders wont move any thing. I got the M1 Max current set at 4A, same for the M2.

The com port is fine, I get readings on the encoders.
Please help, this holds back my entire machine.

1. 4.1.26 has been out for a while now so my guess is something isnt set correctly on your controller. I will need more information on how you are controlling the unit. Note that if you are using RC or Analog mode that the sliders in Ion Studio will NOT move the motor(the RC or Analog inputs constantly override the slider commands so you wont get movement).

2. If you are in a crunch you can revert to the previous version of Ion Studio. Open Control Panel/Programs and Features. Select Ion Motion and click Uninstall. This will give you the option to revert to the previous version. You can then open IonStudio and "update" the firmware back to 4.1.24 temporarily.

3. Another thing to do is reset the settings to defaults. Test the motors, then make your settings changes and retest the motors.

Thanks

I chose to revert to .24 version, good enough for me.
