If the motor is acting up but the motor channel drives other motors properly, the problem is most likely in the motor. If something is shorting in the motor that would cause the over current. I would also check wiring to the motor to make sure it isnt something shorting before power get to the motor.

It is very very rare for a motor to fail but it does happen. I killed one accidently by over driving the voltage and current to the motor. It took a while though.

Please provide a link to the motor specs and what voltage you were driving the motor at. The 2x7A can supply up to 15amps per motor channel. That is enough to damage some small motors.

Also make sure you are using the latest Basicmicro Motion Studio software, Not older Ion Motion/Studio software.
