You have a screw terminal version of the Roboclaw. It has all the same functions but the ground and 5v pins were consolidated to fit the screw terminals.

First thing oyu hsould do it sheck if your encoders are working correctly. Hook the unit up to a PC via the USB port(and power) and connect the encoders. Using the IonMotion software make sure the encoders are working correctly. In your case the absolute encoders should show values from 0 to 2047.

When running the autotuner if the motor just runs out to the hard limit the encoder value is reversed from the motor control(usually) and the Roboclaw never gets to its start point. The position autotuner trys to move the encoder to near it middle point before it starts the tuning routine.
